2013 Northern Trust Open Picks and Predictions

We have been rolling with our picks lately making lots of money playing Daily Fantasy Golf. We hope you join us this week, as rolling in the dough by ourselves is just no fun!

Last week at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am 5 of our 6 picks made the cut (stupid Ryan Palmer missed the cut by just one stroke). But the fab 5 carried our team to a few head to head victories and we finished in the money for the DraftStreet $300 Freeroll. Ironically there were a few other teams that had the same picks as us - so at least a couple of our followers took our advice.

But enough about last week - let's move on to our Northern Trust Open Picks and Predictions to make you some more money!

2013 Northern Trust Open

Played at the Riviera Country Club, this 7,349 yard par 71 golf course favors LONG HITTERS that can hit it straight. The Northern Trust Open also serves as a warm up for the World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play, so more of the top golfers make their first appearance of the year on the PGA Tour. Luke Donald, Adam Scott, Ernie Els join other top golfers Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson and Dustin Johnson at The Northern Trust Open.

Riviera Country Club

When making your picks this week at DraftStreet, focus on the long hitters who have played well here in the past. The par 5s are reachable in two, but some of the par 3s play long as well so the short game takes a bit of a back seat.

Northern Trust Open Picks for DraftStreet

J.B. Holmes - Pro GolferJ.B. Holmes - $13,577 – Holmes hasn’t finished higher than 12th since 2008 in the Northern Trust Open. He has the length to do well here though, as his past has shown. Holmes hasn’t started off well in 2013, but at such a low salary cap cost at DraftStreet and with his history of playing well at Riviera, he’ll be my 2013 Northern Trust Open sleeper pick.

Jimmy Walker - Pro GolferJimmy Walker - $19,905 – Walker is very hot right now and has been great at this tournament as well. He’s finished in 4th the last two years at the Northern Trust Open and given how he is playing, he deserves a spot on our team.

Aaron Baddeley - Pro GolferAaron Baddeley - $17,913 – He’s becoming a fixture in our Picks and Predictions having been on our fantasy team several times already in 2013. How can we not put him on our DraftStreet team? He won the 2011 Northern Trust Open and has made all 10 of his cuts at Riviera. Although I worry that he is becoming fatigued with so many straight PGA Tour tournament appearances, he hasn’t disappointed us yet...and as we’ve mentioned in our daily fantasy golf strategies tips page, you have to play the hot hand.

James Hahn - Pro GolferJames Hahn - $12,521 – Speaking of playing the hot hand, Hahn was a late edition to our DraftStreet fantasy team. Originally, I had Nick Colsaerts in this spot, but how can you not play Hahn right now? He has made all 5 of his cuts and has two top 10 finishes for the year. This maybe another 2013 Northern Trust Open sleeper pick at such a low price.

Bill Haas - Pro GolferBill Haas - $19,253 – The defending champ returns and has already had a good 2013 leading up to the Northern Trust Open with two top 10 finishes. Haas has made 5 of 7 of his cuts at Riviera so he is a worthy player for our fantasy golf team.

Zach Johnson - Pro GolferZach Johnson - $15,528 – I will go out on a limb and say that Zach Johnson won’t win the 2013 Northern Trust Open. However, he is the type of player that will hang around through the weekend and score the fantasy points that win help us win our week at DraftStreet.

Total DraftStreet Salary - $98,697
