2013 Waste Management Phoenix Open Picks and Predictions For DraftStreet

Next stop for the PGA Tour is the 2013 Waste Management Phoenix Open which features the "loudest hole" on any golf course – the 16th hole at the TPC Scottsdale which resembles more of a stadium than a golf course. Each shot is heckled or cheered and as the day grows longer and more alcohol is consumed the noise grows larger.

16th Hole - Phoenix Open

Although not a terribly big course, it has always favored big hitters that can reach some of the Par 5s in two and the Par 4 17th hole can be reached in one stroke. Past winners have been long ball hitters and in making our DraftStreet picks and predictions for the 2013 Waste Management Phoenix Open we have focused our attention to that detail.

The 2013 Waste Management Phoenix Open will feature top players like Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson, Nick Watney and Keegan Bradley.

Here are our 2013 Waste Management Phoenix Open picks and predictions for DraftStreet this weekend - get these players in your lineups:

Hunter Mahan PGAHunter Mahan - $20,355 – A winner at the TPC Scottsdale in 2010, Mahan has always played this tournament well. He scored well for our team last week at DraftStreet with 21.2 fantasy points and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t repeat similar scores this week as well.

Keegan Bradley PGAKeegan Bradley - $18,664 – Bradley disappointed our DraftStreet fantasy golf team last week by missing the cut unexpectedly. However, he is too good a golfer to give up on. His only appearance at the Waste Management Phoenix Open found him finish tied for 15th and for us that’s good enough to keep him on our fantasy salary cap team this week.

Nicolas Colsaerts PGANicolas Colsaerts - $16,373 – There are a lot of fantasy players that we could have chosen for this price but we chose to take a flier on Colsaerts. He doesn’t play much on the PGA Tour, but plays well when he does. He can hit the ball far and just got his feet wet in 2013 last week at the Farmers Insurance Open tying for 44th, made the cut and had a good final round. We have a feeling about this pick and sometimes you got to go with your gut.

Aaron Baddeley PGAAaron Baddeley - $15,255 – Baddeley has never performed extremely well at the TPC Scottsdale, but he is playing well and is coming off a 6th place finish at the 2-2013 Farmers Insurance Open. Having scored us a sweet 23.8 points this past week at DraftStreet for our fantasy golf team, at just over $15,000, he is too good of a player to leave off our team.

Carl Petterson PGACarl Pettersson - $14,384 – Pettersson is on a streak of making 13 consecutive PGA Tour cuts. Combine that with his distance hitting and we like Pettersson to rack up a bunch of fantasy points for us this week at the 2013 Waste Management Phoenix Open. By playing until the final round on Sunday, and given he has had a career resurgence of late, he could even rank well in the final standings.

Ryan Palmer PGARyan Palmer - $14,744 – To round out our DraftStreet fantasy golf team, we picked Ryan Palmer. He is a speculative pick, but so was Brian Stuard last week and he got us 16.4 points. We chose Palmer as a fantasy pick, due to the fact that he leads the PGA Tour in driving distance and on the TPC Scottsdale course at the 2013 Waste Management Phoenix Open, length should keep him around for the weekend.

Total DraftStreet Salary – $99,775
