2014 PGA Championship Fantasy Golf Picks

2014 PGA Championship LogoThe fourth major of 2014 is the PGA Championship and of all 4, it is the one that is least acknowledged as a major tourney. When stacked up against the history of The Masters, The US Open and The Open Championship, The PGA Championship is like the uncle nobody likes to talk about.

Nevertheless, it is still a major and all the big names will be there trying to win it for their career resume...then there is the $$ of course!

DraftKings has once again stepped it up with a $300,000 King of the Course Contest allowing you the chance to take your fantasy golf picks for the PGA Championship and make some BIG CASH!

We are partners with DraftKings and receive compensation for new players joining through our links. This helps us to provide quality content to our followers.

Below are fantasy golfers you will want to focus your attention on as the players to choose from when building your team. On the other hand, our PGA Championship Sleepers will help you round out the rest of your team.

Martin KaymerMartin Kaymer – Many fantasy players lost money because they backed Kaymer as their horse to win the Open Championship…in fact, he blew up on Sunday with a 7 over to kill everyone! He should shake that off though and come back to post some good numbers this week, so take him for your team - but do your research to make sure that he is ready to bring his “A” game to Valhalla.

Henrik StensonHenrik Stenson – Stenson is another player that people will shy away from after having a mediocre week at Hoylake. It’s not that he played bad, he just wasn’t worth the value that he cost for a salary cap number at DK. In any case, he is still trying to take over the #1 spot in the world rankings and a win this week could just do it. He will bounce back with a solid week no doubt and is a solid PGA Championship pick.

Adam ScottAdam Scott – Scott was cursed at The Open Championship with his starting times - the first 2 days being the more unfavorable of playing conditions. Sunday, he really poured it on, but by then he was too far behind to win. Scott is still at the top of his game and should be considered a heavy favored PGA Championship pick to add another major to his name.

Rory McIlroyRory McIlroy – We wrote this in our Fantasy Picks for the British Open page: “Rory needs to do one thing to win the British Open…play 4 good rounds.” I guess he read our page and went out and won - because he finally played 4 good rounds! McIlroy will be a solid PGA Championship favorite and hopefully doesn’t have a hangover from the British Open win.

Rickie FowlerRickie Fowler – After 3 majors so far in 2014, he has finished in 2nd twice and 5th once. Even if he doesn’t win this week, he should be in your fantasy lineup just for the high points he will get if he continues his top 5 finishes in major tournaments. Rickie is one of the better PGA Championship fantasy golf picks this week.

Bubba WatsonBubba Watson – Watson played disappointingly at Royal Liverpool and was gone by the weekend. He has had a great year, but he may still be having a bit of a hangover from winning the Masters in April (this also happened to him 2 years ago when he won). Watch how he plays at the WGC Bridgestone to decide if he should be an anchor for your team, else he will be what sinks your fantasy golf team.

Tiger WoodsTiger Woods – We said Tiger wouldn’t win the British Open and we were right. He did make the cut (which we didn’t expect), but he still has a lot of rust on him. So why put him in this list of 2014 PGA Championship picks? He's still TIGER WOODS and he's still on a quest to break Jack Nicklaus’s record for most career majors - so you kind of have to look at picking him just because this is a tourney that he really wants to win. Will he suddenly "show his old self"...or wait til 2015 to start his last big run?

Sergio GarciaSergio Garcia – Sergio was great at The Open, but Rory was just that much better. Sergio is playing solidly and is still motivated to win a major - I just worry that he gets more motivated for the British Open and the Masters as opposed to the PGA Championship. He is a great fantasy golf pick this week nonetheless!
