2014 Fantasy Golf Players To Watch

Each week, fantasy golfers visit their favorite daily fantasy golf site and create a lineup to win real money.

Each week, golf courses change and salary caps numbers differ, but which fantasy golfers to key in on should remain mostly the same.

The reality is - the top PGA Tour golfers are at the top because they are the best golfers on the Tour - and below we have created a list of the top 2014 Fantasy Golf Players to Watch. These golfers should be plugged into your lineups at sites like DraftKings.com whenever possible or when the numbers are in your favor.

We are partners with DraftKings and receive compensation for new players joining through our links. This helps us to provide quality content to our followers.

Tiger WoodsTiger Woods – Yes, give us points for stating the obvious, but Tigers Woods is still the best golfer in the world and can at any time win a golf tournament. The downside is that his salary cap numbers at top fantasy golf sites like DraftKings are usually high. If you can create a decent lineup with Woods in it, then it should be done. In majors, Woods always competes and more often than not finishes in the top 10.

Rory McIlroyRory McIlroy - A tale of two McIlroys...up until last year Rory was looked at as “the next one” and then in 2013 he fell apart. Blame the new clubs, blame the hot girlfriend – but he fell apart. In 2014 he will return to some of his old form and will be undervalued initially in most salary cap games. If you see him at a low price, grab him as he is a high reward player in 2014 if his game reappears. He is still amongst the best golfers in the world.

Jimmy WalkerJimmy Walker – Walker always seems to be in contention. For his career on the PGA Tour so far, Walker finishes in the top 10 over 40% of the time…this is the kind of fantasy golfer you want for your team. Walker’s name still isn’t on the list with the big boys which means you can get good value for him most weeks at daily fantasy golf sites. Take advantage of him in 2014 because in 2015…he won’t be a bargain anymore!

Hideki MatsuyamaHideki Matsuyama – Never heard of Hideki Matsuyama? That would explain why you aren’t killing it in fantasy golf yet. Playing as an amateur in 2013, he made 6 of 7 cuts and finished no worse than 21st. 2014 sees Hideki Matsuyama as a full timer on the PGA Tour and you will see his name on the leaderboards quite a bit this year. This kid wins! And if you put him on your fantasy golf teams…you will win too!

Jason DayJason Day - If only Day played more often on the PGA Tour... He had 21 starts in 2013 and made all 21 cuts finishing in the top 10 seven times. Fantasy Golfers that make cuts help you win your daily fantasy golf leagues. He will be expensive on daily fantasy gold sites like DraftKings, but he is worth it if you create a good lineup around him.

Brandt SnedekerBrandt Snedeker – Until he was injured in 2013, Snedeker was the hottest and best golfer on the PGA Tour. 2014 will see him regain his form and be a factor in many tournaments. He has choked in majors in the past – most notably Snedeker has choked on the final Sunday of the Masters a couple years in a row, but look for Snedeker during weeks that he plays in weak PGA Tour fields (e.g. RBC Canadian Open) as he is too good a golfer not to win. 2014 could see him take that step up that he began last year.

Graham DeLaetGraham DeLaet – Haven’t heard of him either? See Hideki Matsuyama above. DeLaet started to make noise last year during the FedEx cup and will continue to make noise in 2014. The Canadian PGA Tour golfer may not be recognized by many casual fantasy golfers, but if you stick him in your fantasy golf lineups you will be rewarded in 2014. He is one of the top 2014 fantasy golf players to watch.

Keegan BradleyKeegan Bradley – Took a bit of a step backwards in 2013 at the beginning of the year and that soured a lot of fantasy golfers on taking him again. He finished off the year strong and should be back to his strong fantasy play in 2014. Bradley isn’t flashy but he has a great overall golf game that makes him a strong play each week.
