2015 British Open Fantasy Golf Picks - Favorites To Win

2015 British Open Fantasy Golf Picks

British Open Championship LogoOK, so it’s not really the 2015 British Open, it is the Open Championship (The Open). Regardless, it is the third major on the PGA Tour schedule and it is a completely different style of golf.

Played on a links style golf course at Historic St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland, The Open Championship will again have wide open fairways, punishing rough, dangerous bunkers (road hold bunkers) and the weather can play a major factor in how the scores end up at the British Open. All this needs to be factored in when making your "expert golf picks" this week.

Rory McIlroy is the defending Open Champ and will again be one of the favorites to win. **Update - Rory McIlroy is now injured and is questionable to play**. As will some 21 year old kid that is trying for a 3rd major in a row. Neither of them will be on the list below as they will be the two highest priced players at all Top Daily Fantasy Golf Sites - they are however on our Who will win the 2015 Open Championship page.

**Opportunity Alert! While you are definitely going to set a line up for the BIGGEST Fantasy Golf Contest - Why not also try out some FREE Fantasy Golf Games at FantasyAces.com! They will have their $10,000 Best Ball Open Championship Contest but they will also have Fantasy Golf Games for FREE to check out!

If you plan to have either of them in your Fantasy Golf Contest then expect to pay a decent amount as they will again be at the top salary cap prices.

British Open Course St. Andrews

**Fantasy Golf Strategy Tip for 2015 British OPEN** – The Open Championship is being played at the Old Course at St. Andrews. Some older golfers in the field have course history already but look at how golfers generally have finished in past British Opens. If they make the cut each year, they are confortable with all links style golf courses.

Below is our list of Fantasy Golf Favorites to look at when creating your team for the 2015 British Open. Most of these golfers still won’t be cheap salary cap prices at other fantasy golf sites but you can still insert a few of them and when paired with some of our 2015 British Open Sleeper Picks, you could make a solid fantasy golf lineup that should make you VERY RICH!

2015 Fantasy Golf Picks for The British Open

Best Fantasy Golf SitesHenrik StensonHenrik Stenson – Was leading after the 1st day at the US Open…and then Chambers Bay happened. He is still a guy that is itching to win a major and the 2015 British Open may be his time. He will be a high price at FantasyAces.com so he will cost you, but he should be worth the investment.

Dustin Johnson Dustin Johnson – The 3 putt may haunt him for a while but he may also be on a mission to finally close out a major. He played well at Chambers Bay which was essentially a links course and has had great finishes in past British Open appearances. If he can improve the putting that failed him and get his mind in the right space after his big choke…he could be a big source of fantasy golf points.

Jason Day Jason Day – ***Check Health Status*** - Jason Day gutted out his 4 days of the US Open with bouts of vertigo. He still had a Top 10 finish but one has to wonder how he would have finished had he been at full strength. If he is fully healthy, he is a great pick for your fantasy golf lineup but be warned, he seemed fully healthy leading up to the US Open too.

Patrick Reed Patrick Reed – I admit I am not a big Patrick Reed fan but he does pop his head up for some big PGA Tournaments. Was strong during the US Open but faded during the 3rd round. He missed the cut in his first Open Championship but is playing some good golf in 2015. He should be a mid-range price at FantasyAces that you may want to take a flier on him if you are making multiple lineups.

Louis Oosthuizen Louis Oosthuizen – Take away a horrible 1st day at Chambers Bay and we may be talking about Oosthuizen having won the 2015 US Open. He finished tied for 2nd and at one point of the final round of the US Open birdied the final 6 of 7 holes. Oosthuizen has injury issues that pop up but if healthy, he will be a great fantasy golf pick especially since he has the game that could actually win the 2015 British Open Championship.

Hideki MatsuyamaHideki Matsuyama – So we had higher hopes for Matsuyama at the US Open but he made the cut and scored us points which is half of what you ask for. He is still having a great year on the PGA Tour and with a consistent golf game, why can’t Hideki Matsuyama win the 2015 British Open Championship?
