The 2015 TPC Fantasy Golf Picks

TPC Sawgrass Island HoleLong considered the "5th major" on the PGA Tour, The Players Championship played at TPC Sawgrass is still one of the most watched events on the golf schedule. The famous island green (it’s signature 17th hole is a par 3 132-yard hole) it is one of golf's most famous and challenging holes.

When making fantasy golf predictions, the 2 strategies to focus on will be “Course History” and “Playing the Hot Hand”.

All eyes will be on Jordan Spieth after his play at Augusta last month, and he will no doubt be one of the higher priced players at Top Fantasy Golf Sites like DraftKings.

Last month, DraftKings.com gave out $2.2 Million for their Masters fantasy golf contest and the 2015 U.S. Open is even BIGGER at $2.5 Million! Just $20 could make you a millionaire so now is when you want to start playing Daily Fantasy Golf at DraftKings to be ready for the really big money!

Below is our list of top fantasy golf picks for the 2015 Players Championship:

List of Picks To Win The 2015 Players Championship

Jordan SpiethJordan Spieth – Spieth finished tied for 4th at last year’s TPC Championship and given the level his game right now there is no reason to think that he won't be a top fantasy golf pick this time around. As mentioned above, he will be an expensive salary cap pick at DraftKings, similar to Augusta, so if you are going to use him for your lineup, you better have Players Championship Sleeper Picks lined up as well.

Rory McIlroyRory McIlroy – Rory came back down to earth at The Masters last month realizing that his talent alone won’t win him the big tournaments. The biggest knock on McIlroy is that he doesn’t play enough to prepare for these tournaments. The advantage is that he will be a slightly lower price and having finished in the top 10 his last 2 times out, he will still be a solid Players Championship fantasy golf pick.

Dustin JohnsonDustin Johnson – OK – so even though course history is a pretty good indicator of how to make fantasy golf picks for TPC Sawgrass – Dustin Johnson may then almost be considered a sleeper. He has never played well at The Players Championship with his highest finish being 34th. So why should he be one of your fantasy golf picks in 2015? Given how he played last month at Augusta, and how he has played all of 2015, Dustin Johnson is too good a golfer to not breakthrough at TPC. Island Green be damned, if Johnson is a low enough salary at DraftKings, try to get him into multiple lineups.

Tiger Woods Tiger Woods – Is he back? He still hasn’t announced yet if he’s playing in The Players Championship at the time of this writing. If he is playing, do you start Tiger in your lineup? Hard to answer, Tiger played well at Augusta...but Tiger usually plays well at Augusta so that’s a hard barometer. Tiger won the Players the last time he played there in 2013, so he should still be considered as a good fantasy pick, but he may be priced fairly high like he was at The Masters, so you need to decide whether or not to include him.

Jason Day Jason Day – Day missed last year’s TPC due to injury, but has always played well there. Day will be a solid fantasy golf pick for your lineup, although he will be on the top end of the salary cap price list.

Jimmy Walker Jimmy Walker – We’re a big fan of Walker. He makes cuts, wins and he is usually a lower price at DraftKings. He finished 38th at the Masters, which wasn’t bad, but his track record shows that he can have a top 10 finish in any tournament. If Walker's under $10,000 at DraftKings for the FREE $100K Pressure Putt then he should be a serious consideration for your fantasy golf team.
