**Fantasy Golf Sleeper Pick Strategies & Tips for the 2016 US OPEN**

  • To win th the really big cash prizes all of your fantasy golf picks will have to make the cut
  • If you are looking at top players like Jason Day or Rory McIlroy you will need at least two (maybe 3) sleeper picks that will allow you to afford them under the salary cap for your 2016 US Open lineup
  • Use golf betting odds from sites like Bovada to see which Sleeper Picks have value as a fantasy pick or if the odds are too high, they may be too much of a longshot to use

Sleepers and Longshots for the U.S. Open

Emiliano Grillo Emiliano Grillo (200-1) – Grillo started off the season with a win and has been up and down the rest of the season. His driving accuracy stats are great and for a tough course like Oakmont you want to focus on guys that will find the fairway and avoid the rough. Grillo will be a low cost option as a sleeper pick for your fantasy golf contest.

Graeme McDowell Graeme McDowell (80-1) – Had a down year last year but a former US Open Champion he has great driving accuracy and could catch a lot of people off guard with how he plays this week. 2016 has been pretty good for him and if he makes the cut at Oakmont you will be counting dollars from your fantasy winnings.

Jim Furyk Jim Furyk (60-1) – A forgotten man because he started the PGA Tour season off injured but he is still one of the best golfers even if he is starting the slow decline in his career. Oakmont has hosted the US Open 2 times and Furyk has finished in 28th and 2nd in his 2 appearances. He won’t be a low cost sleeper pick but he will be low enough to be a great value pick for your team.

Justin Thomas Justin Thomas (60-1) – Thomas is always undervalued for Fantasy Golf Contests and yet he has played well in the majors the last 2 years. He is ranked in the top 30 in the world and will be a low salary cap cost for your lineups. You can do much worse for a sleeper pick.

Patton Kizzire Patton Kizzire (200-1) – He’s a rookie on the PGA Tour and still has yet to win a tournament but he is already ranked in the top 60 in the world. Kizzire has a solid game and could be a nice Sleeper steal in Oakmont. He will be a low cost salary cap cost at all DFS sites so take a chance and see how he does.
