2015 / 2016 Top 10 Fantasy Golf Sleeper Picks

  1. Justin Thomas – I know, at $2.8 Million, Thomas isn’t a typical Sleeper but we honestly see this kid becoming a star possibly. Remember, we had Jason Day on our list last year saying that at $3.7 Million he wasn’t a typical sleeper – and he almost tripled his value! Thomas could be the same type of play in 2016.
  2. Marc Leishman – Leishman’s value lies in the fact that he only earned $1.76 Million. He took time off because his wife was sick and when he came back, he played some good golf. We liked Leishman last year but his earnings were too high for him to be a Sleeper Pick…now we get to take advantage.
  3. Emiliano Grillo - This kid is already the favorite for Rookie of the Year on the PGA Tour and because he’s a rookie, he will also play 30+ tourneys and easily make over a million in earnings - I project possibly Justin Thomas earnings which was over $2 Million.
  4. Patton Kizzire – Winner of the Web.com Tour money list, Kizzire has nowhere to go but up! He will probably play 30+ events on Tour and avoids the reshuffle so I see him easily earning $1 Million in salary this year.
  5. Graham DeLaet – OK, so we had DeLaet on our list last year and he got hit with the injury bug. So, his earnings are under the $1 Million mark for a guy that for a couple years earned over $2 Million/year. Look for DeLaet to bounce back (if he can stay healthy) and at least double your salary return.
  6. Tiger Woods – How the mighty have fallen! Last year Tiger Woods was on our list of 2015 Sleeper Picks only to go off and have surgery again. He showed signs of being a good player again, so he is a big risk/reward play in 2016. Personally we are staying away – but he is a low cost play to take a chance on.
  7. Patrick Rodgers – Rogers is the 1st golfer ever to finish in the top 125 with non-member FedEx Cup points and also finish in the top 25 Web.com Tour earnings in same golf season. Rogers will be overlooked by many – don’t you be one of them!
  8. Will Wilcox – A young guy that played his way into the 1st tournament of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. He will probably play in over 30 events in 2016 and given that he made $1.17 Million in 17 events last year, he won’t be on many other people’s Sleeper List in 2016.
  9. Graeme McDowell – Is Graeme McDowell done as a golfer? Or did he enjoy being a new father so much that he forgot what his actual job was? Nonetheless, McDowell starts off with a low floor for fantasy golf players fitting guys under a salary cap and McDowell, although will only play about 15-20 PGA Tour events, we be in the field for all 4 majors and the WGC events giving him opportunities to earn more in 2016.
  10. Blayne Barber – Barber is a DEEP SLEEPER Pick! He has talent, and even though he had four Top 10 finishes last year, he also missed 14 cuts. He will be hungry to stay on Tour and will have a full year under his belt. He is a low cost having only earned $768K last year. Another big risk/reward play.
