2016 PGA Championship Sleeper Picks

PGA Championship BaltusrolOur last Sleeper Picks page from 2 weeks ago had us being right on 4 out of 5 golfers (stupid Jimmy Walker shooting an 80 on Friday!) and our Fantasy Golf Millionaire lineups did well with all our low cost sleeper picks paired with our Open Championship Fantasy Golf Picks of 2nd place finisher Phil Mickelson and the winner Henrik Stenson.

This week’s PGA Championship at Baltusrol only gives some players a week off because of the Olympics (which nobody seems to be going to play in) so using the results from the Open Championship and seeing how some of these sleepers played at the RBC Canadian Open is how you should make your Sleeper Picks for the 2016 PGA Championship.

Our Sleeper Picks for the PGA Championship are Longshots to actually win the 4th major but as fantasy golf picks for the 2016 PGA Championship they will be worth taking. All 5 PGA Tour players are low cost salary cap prices for the Fantasy Golf Millionaire and at smaller fantasy golf sites like FantasyAces.com or FantasyDraft.com.

You can’t win the really big prize money unless you’ve joined. Find out all the details on the Fantasy Golf Millionaire Contest.

**Fantasy Golf Strategies for you to consider when making a fantasy golf lineup for The 2016 PGA Championship**

  • Do your research first - when the salary cap prices come out you will already know who to target and not be influenced by the pricing beforehand.
  • To win the $1 Million you need all 6 golfers to make the cut. Pair your PGA Championship Sleeper Picks with some of these Fantasy Picks for the 2016 PGA Championship.
  • If you are playing in the Fantasy Golf Millionaire Contest, look for fantasy golfers that are under the $7000 as your sleepers but players around the $7,500 range can be great value picks too.

Using numbers from oddsmakers, here's our List of 2016 PGA Championship Sleeper Picks to help you win your fantasy golf contest.

2016 PGA Championship Longshots and Sleeper Picks

Emiliano GrilloEmiliano Grillo (150-1) – Grillo won the 1st PGA Tour event of the year and has since continued to be a favorite pick of mine in fantasy golf cash games. Sites undervalue him and even in the last Fantasy Golf Millionaire he was only owned by 4.7% of the entries. He makes cuts and scores points in the majors and will be under $7,000 for your salary cap. Ride him as a sleeper pick for the rest of 2016…next year he’ll be pricey.

Justin Thomas Justin Thomas (80-1 odds to win) – The Open was a new experience for him but playing at the PGA Championship will be just like playing a regular PGA course and so far Thomas has paid off for fantasy players that have taken him as a sleeper in past Millionaire Fantasy Golf Contests. He will be again in the sub $7,000 price range so pick him and spend your money on a top fantasy golf pick with the extra savings.

J.B. Holmes J.B. Holmes (80-1 odds to win) – His 3rd place finish at the Open Championship will unfortunately bump up his salary cap price from the $6,500 range to somewhere in the $7,000’s. Nevertheless, Holmes is playing really great golf and should be a solid pick for Baltusrol and your fantasy golf lineups.

Kevin NaKevin Na (150-1) – One of my absolute favorite sleeper picks for the majors because he’s usually priced around $6,500 and has a low ownership percentage. He just plays solid golf and is always the 1st name I look at when creating a fantasy golf lineup knowing that he is a low cost player for my lineups.

Bill HaasBill Haas (125-1 odds to win) – Haas used to be a lock for making a cut in every tournament he entered. I will at least settle for the fact that he makes cuts in the 4 majors and coming off a top 10 finish at Royal Troon 2 weeks ago Haas will once again be a solid fantasy golf sleeper pick for the PGA Championship even though at 125-1 odds he is a huge longshot to win the 2016 PGA Championship.
