2016 Masters Sleepers and Longshots

2017 Masters Sleepers and Longshots

2016 Masters SleepersSo not to beat our own drum but in last year’s Masters Sleepers and Longshots page we hit on all but one of our picks including our 2 longshots that made the cut and our 60-1 pick Danny Willett actually won the Masters Tournament at Augusta.

Our fantasy lineups for the Fantasy Golf Millionaire Contest made us a bunch of solid finishes paired with some of our Fantasy Picks for the Masters and we did cash in a ticket having bet on Willett to win the Masters so all in all last year was a great year.

So of course we put our rep back on the line with our 2017 Masters Sleeper Picks that you can use for your fantasy golf lineups for the Millionaire Contest or try them out for FanDuel’s Fantasy Golf Game. They have only been running games for a couple of weeks but FanDuel is arguably the biggest daily fantasy sports site and having choices of where to play fantasy golf is a huge bonus!

Our List of Masters Sleepers is best used to pair up with our Masters Fantasy Golf Picks or with someone from our list of Who Will Win the 2017 Masters. You could place a bet with one or two of them since they are pretty high odds but hitting a sleeper to win the Masters is a longshot in itself.

When looking for Sleeper Picks for the Masters you should keep in mind some of these Fantasy Golf Strategies:

  • The 2017 Masters is a Smaller Field – Typically a PGA tournament has about 150 golfers in the field but the Masters field sits at less than 100 golfers with 50 of those players sitting on top of the Official World Golf Rankings. Because of that, sleepers for the Masters are generally still pretty good golfers.
  • LOOK AT golfers with a solid history at Augusta – Some guys just love playing at Augusta and no matter how they are playing during the 2017 PGA Tour season. Look at which golfers always make the cut there and focus on the low cost players as sleeper picks.

Sleeper Picks for the 2017 Masters Tournament

DraftKings UK Sign UpBill HaasBill Haas (150-1 odds) – Haas is one of my favorite fantasy golf picks for tournaments because he usually makes cuts and for the Masters he has a solid track record of not only making the cut but finishing in the top 20 or 30. He is always priced low for salary cap lineups so he is worth a spot in a bunch of your teams.

Matt KucharMatt Kuchar (66-1 odds) – “Kooooch” can be heard in the galleries of Augusta for 4 days as he is another one that makes cuts consistently. He’s had an up and down 2017 being either really good…or missing cuts but he knows Augusta and generally finishes pretty well there. He should be under the radar going in and hopefully the salary cap number reflects that.

Brandt SnedekerBrandt Snedeker (50-1 odds) He probably won’t be priced at FanDuel like a Sleeper Pick for the Masters but nobody is picking him to win this week either. He has had a great 2017 with a few Top 10 finishes and should once again score well all four rounds.

Jimmy WalkerJimmy Walker (80-1 odds) – Another favorite player of mine that also probably won’t be priced as a sleeper but I love that he generally makes cuts in the majors. This pick comes with an asterisk because if he is priced over $9000 for the Fantasy Golf Millionaire I would probably look at another player but if he’s in the $8000 and possibly $7000 range then jump on him at least for a couple of lineups.

Bill HaasJon Rahm (33-1 odds) – So the odds makers already have the rookie of the year candidate as more of a favorite than a sleeper but that’s because he’s been that good in 2017! Casual golf fans won’t even know who Jon Rahm is but he has a great game and will be a force on the PGA Tour for many years to come. If FanDuel doesn’t overprice him then look to stick him into a few lineups.

2017 Masters Longshot Pick

Sometimes you need to really take a shot at a longshot.Below is a guy that we think will be priced low at DFS golf sites and that should make the cut and could even make some noise at Augusta too.

Soren KjeldsenSoren Kjeldsen (250-1 odds)Here is a longshot to win the Masters! Okay, he won’t win but he is ranked in the Top 70 in the world and finished 7th last year at Augusta and 9th at the Open Championship. If you are looking for a cheap salary cap player for your Fantasy Golf Millionaire lineup then stick him into a few and see how he does.

If you can make the right Sleeper Picks for the 2017 Masters you could walk away with a check for $1 Million and be celebrating winning the BIGGEST Fantasy Golf Contest for the Masters Tournament! Clickthe graphic for more Details
