2017 PLAYERS Championship Sleeper Picks

TPC Sawgrass Island HoleThe 2017 PLAYERS Championship or TPC goes this week and it’s time for our annual TPC Sleepers and Longshot picks page. Below are guys that we use for our fantasy golf lineups that should make the cut and play all four rounds and get us some extra salary cap space for the higher priced Fantasy Picks for the PLAYERS Championship.

When we looks for Sleeper Picks we focus on two strategies: Course history and who is playing well leading up to the TPC. Facing the island hole on 17 at the TPC Sawgrass can be intimidating so guys that have a solid history are a plus. Also, as in most of our picks we look for guys that are hot on the PGA tour in the last 2-3 weeks as it usually carries over into the next tournament.

The golfers below are guys that we’ll use at FanDuel mostly as Round 1 and 2 players since they aren’t guaranteed to play the weekend but hopefully put together two solid rounds that score enough points and maybe even play through into the weekend.

2017 TPC Sleepers and Longshot Picks

Soren KjeldsenSoren Kjeldsen – We liked him as a Masters Longshot pick and he was - until the final round when he posted a 78. Kjeldsen finished in 36th place which is great for a fantasy golf Sleeper Pick. He played TPC Sawgrass last year and finished in 43rd and he’ll be a low cost at FanDuel as a round 1 and 2 pick and worth a look for your Sleepers list.

Emiliano Grillo Emiliano Grillo – I love Grillo’s game and even though he’s not been the fantasy stud that he was last year he still makes his cuts and has the talent to find the top of the leaderboard in any given PGA Tournament. Missed the cut at TPC last year so don’t make him a sleeper pick in every one of your lineups.

Kevin Kisner Kevin Kisner – Far from a Sleeper Pick for the TPC he will be a low enough cost to use as one. Kisner has been great all year and should be looked at especially if his salary cap number is kept low.

Daniel Berger Daniel Berger – Has had an up and down year but finished tied for 9th last year for THE PLAYERS. He won’t be expensive at our partner site DraftKings and should be considered to round out some of your fantasy teams.

Brian Harman Brian Harman – Harman is another hit or miss player but he’s strung together a couple of good weeks in a row and has a decent history at the PLAYERS. Not a top sleeper pick – more of a longshot but if he’s priced low enough you may just use his as a round 1 and 2 filler at FanDuel and use your salary cap cash on the higher price players.
