Sleeper Picks for the Open Championship

Brandt Snedeker (66-1) – Not a longshot pick but he gets forgotten a lot by fantasy golfers as a guy that has spent a lot of time on leaderboards during majors. Snedeker is a good wind player and is always a threat to win a big tournament. He is a steal at $6,800 at DraftKings so use him in a few of your lineups.

Matt Kuchar (66-1) – The Open has never been a solid event for Kuch so don’t expect him to win this week but he is playing good golf and for the salary cap price tag that he is he can be counted on to make the cut and won’t hurt any of your fantasy lineups.

Francesco Molinari (90-1) – Just like Kuchar, Molinari has a good record at the Open albeit unspectacular. He should be fine for playing the weekend which is what you want for your FanDuel lineups but I wouldn’t count on him raising the Claret Jug on Sunday at Royal Birkdale.

Bill Haas (125-1) – Used to be a favorite sleeper pick of mine for all four of the Fantasy Golf Millionaire Contests I would enter but this year he hasn’t been as dependable – until recently. At the US Open he finished tied for 5th which as great result for fantasy golf gamers. He will be a low cost at all fantasy sites so take him and expect him to make the cut.

Russell Henley (125-1) – Henley is more of a longshot pick for even making the cut. He’s had an up and down 2017 PGA Tour season and has an up and down career for results at the Open. He has played well in both majors so far this year and I think he’s a decent low cost pick for Royal Birkdale this year.

Brian Harman (175-1)***Longshot Pick for the Open*** - The one pick I wish I didn’t talk myself out of was Brian Harman in the US Open. I had him on my lists and then a poor showing at the Memorial Tournament made me decide to take him out of any articles and any fantasy lineups. BIG MISTAKE! He finished tied for second and I would have cashed in a hell of a lot more. He’ll be a good price again at FanDuel so I won’t avoid him this time around.
