Who Will Win The 2015 US Open PGA Tour Golf Tournament?

2015 US Open TrophyWho’s going to win the 2015 US Open? I don’t know – and if I did, I’m not entirely sure I would tell you! What I do know is which fantasy golf players have a great shot at winning and should be looked at for your team. For the Masters, our list had McIlroy as the winner and he came in 4th. On that list we also had Jordan Spieth, who did win.

The list below shows who I think can win the 2015 US Open and who should really conquer Chambers Bay to become the new U.S. Open Champion.

These guys will all be on most of our fantasy golf teams - we usually run at least 10 teams in the biggest fantasy golf contests for millions in prizes.

Fantasy Golf Contest

Our fantasy golf favorites and our pick to win the 2015 US Open

Rory McIlroyRory McIlroy – So he is the #1 golfer in the world and he is the defending Open Champion which means he knows how to play a links style golf course…which is what the course at Chambers Bay essentially is. However, he will be a high price at some of the top fantasy golf sites and he may not be hoisting the trophy on the final Sunday.

Justin RoseJustin Rose – Rose tied for 2nd at the 2015 Masters and already has history as a US Open Champion (2013). He has the patience to play well at Chambers Bay and the hope is that he posts a good number on the 1st day to keep him focused the rest of the week. How will he do on this tough course is anyone’s guess, but he certainly deserves to be on a list of golfers that could win the 2015 US Open.

Jordan SpiethJordan Spieth – Spieth will come in as the “sexy” fantasy golf pick. He will be on a lot of fantasy golf lineups and he has already shown that he’s got game…but he will have all the eyes on him. This is a tough track to play at and I don’t think that Spieth will have enough shots to win a second major in a row. A good overall fantasy golf pick, but he won’t win.

Phil MickelsonPhil Mickelson – If you have read my past predictions for other tournaments, you would have noticed that I have never picked Phil to win any of the last few years of majors. He last won the Open Championship in 2013 and that was also his last PGA Tour win. So why now? Lefty has had glimpses of greatness in 2015 and even finished tied for 2nd at the Masters. Nobody will be picking Phil to win and his price should be reasonable for this week's HUGE Fantasy Golf Contest. Putting will be important at Chambers Bay and Phil can be a great putter when his game is going.

Hideki MatsuyamaHideki Matsuyama – I pray he stays undervalued for most US Open contests, but he keeps showing how good of a golfer he actually is. He is not intimidated by the spotlight of a major or a strong field filled with favorites. I don’t think he will win, but if he is a good price, he may just be in most of my lineups.

Henrik StensonHenrik Stenson – He wasn’t feeling well before the Masters and he still finished tied for 19th. Stenson is a great golfer and has had an unspectacular year, but he is still making cuts and finishing well in most tournaments both on the PGA Tour and the European Tour. Look for Stenson to be "up there" on the US Open leaderboard Sunday.

And...the winner of the 2015 U.S. Open is…

Jim FurykJim Furyk – Didn’t see that one coming did you? Why do I think Furyk will win the 2015 US Open? Furyk has a steady game and he won’t be in the spotlight at all during the week. All the attention will be on the names above and on how the Chambers Bay Course is playing. I admit, this pick is a shot in the dark, but I think there will be a lot of carnage on the US Open field and Furyk has a good enough chance to withstand it,

Now that you know who the winner of the 2015 US Open will be, you just need to decide on the right 2015 US Open Sleeper Picks and you could be the one getting a huge payoff in the form of a nice fat check!
