Will one of the guys on the list below definitely win the 2016 Open Championship? I know that given they are some of the best PGA Tour players and top ranked in the world, I can certainly make a case for why each player can win.

Don't forget to look at our list of 2016 British Open Sleepers and other Fantasy Golf Picks that we like for the Open Championship.

Here is who we think will win the 2016 British Open

Jason DayJason Day – He’s still the number 1 golfer in the world and he certainly played well enough at the US Open to win, he just couldn’t quite make a run on any of the days to actually do it. Oakmont was a tough course and Royal Troon will have its regular links style challenges such as weather, winds and of course huge bunkers but Jason Day is playing awesome right now and always is in contention to win.

Rory McIlroyRory McIlroy – Rory broke my heart and my fantasy lineups as I had half of them built around him winning the US Open. So why do I think he can win the 2016 Open Championship? Because he’s Rory McIlroy and it is my belief that he is probably the best golfer in the world although some are right now playing better than him. I honestly believe that Rory has a chance in every major but the Open Championship may be the one he always has the best shot at.

Jordan SpiethJordan Spieth – After the back nine collapse by Spieth at the Masters I didn’t like him going into the US Open. Slowly it seems his game is getting back to where it should be and last year finished tied for 4th in really challenging wind conditions. You can’t count out Spieth in any golf major and he will have a great week at Royal Troon even if he doesn’t ultimately win the British Open.

Dustin Johnson Dustin Johnson – Got the monkey off his back with his win at Oakmont and his game suits links courses well but winning back to back majors is hard and DJ will have more eyes on him this week than before. I am tempted to pick him to win…but I won’t. He will however be on a bunch of my Fantasy Golf Millionaire lineups as he will make the cut and cash in points all for days.

Louis OosthuizenLouis Oosthuizen – Oosthuizen keeps knocking on the door at the majors but just can’t breakthrough again. In the last 3 years he hasn’t finished worse than 40th and that includes to 2nd place finishes last year at the US Open and The Open Championship. Let’s not forget he won the 2010 British Open at St. Andrews so a victory at Royal Troon wouldn’t be a surprise.

And the winner of the 2016 Open Championship is…

Sergio GarciaSergio Garcia – I have long said that if there was one major that Sergio would win it would be the Open Championship. If you look up his record at the majors it is littered with Top 10 finishes including 9 Top 10 finishes since 2001. He may not have been on too many fantasy golf radars but a solid 10th place finish at the US open has let the cat out of the bag that he is still playing solid golf. I like Sergio to finally breakthrough and win the 2016 Open Championship.
