Once again the unofficial 5th major on the PGA Tour, the 2017 PLAYERS Championship played at TPC Sawgrass will have the best golfers on the PGA Tour and all over the world facing the dreaded 17th hole island green at Sawgrass for one of the biggest payouts of the year.
Fans tune in to watch golfers trying to avoid dunking their shot into the water on the famous hole that has seen final round leaders lose the tournament by getting wet.
Below is our top fantasy golf picks for the Players Championship with reasons why they may come out on top this year:

Rickie Fowler
Fowler won the PLAYERS in 2015 and is in good form heading into it once again. He’ll be in the top tier for salary cap but should be a solid building block across most DFS sites.

Dustin Johnson
Back on the tour after hurting his back before the Masters. Johnson will have played already at the Wells Fargo Championship so you can judge his golf game heading into the Players Championship.

Rory Mcilroy
Rory is on a nice streak having been in contention for a win in his most recent events, it’s really just a matter of whether his putting will come around or not.
John Rahm
I like Rahm in almost every fantasy golf tournament I enter. He has never faced the island hole at TPC Sawgrass although so I wonder if nerves will get to him. He will be at an in-between pricing tier so he may be tough to fit into your lineup.
Justin Rose
Really liked him to win the Masters and he fell short in a playoff. Rose has an up and down history playing at TPC Sawgrass but he is playing great golf right now and should be a good bet to finish top 15 this year.

Hideki Matsuyama
Matsuyama is a high owned DFS pick for almost every PGA Tournament that he playsand the Players Championship will be no different. He finished tied for 7th last year and his course history is solid at Sawgrass. He is my top fantasy golf pick for the Players.
