The 2017 US Open tees off at Erin Hills this year in what may be a break from the impossible courses that we’ve seen in the past. By all accounts, Erin Hills will be an easier course than those in previous years which should allow for some decent scoring for all four rounds.
It’s fairly easy to pick the top PGA Tour golfers as favorites to win the US Open, but when you make your fantasy golf picks you need to focus on some other factors including fitting in 6-8 golfers under a tight salary cap which usually requires picking one or two fliers.
The list below are golfers that aren’t going to be the popular names like DJ, Rory, Day, or Spieth but you may find them on our Who will win the 2017 US Open page. The guys below are the top tier golfers that you can build a team around. All these guys can win this week, but will be a midrange price at FanDuel for their fantasy golf lineups.

Jon Rahm
Everyone’s favorite fantasy golf pick in 2017…and why not? He’s had five Top 5 finishes including a win...he hasn’t missed the cut and he just looks like a guy that can win in any event he enters. He finished tied for 23rd last year on a hard US Open course…imagine what can happen on an easier one!

Matt Kuchar
Although he is on the back 9 of his career, Kuchar’s golf game it perfectly suited to US Open tournaments. He’s never been a guy that racks up wins, but he has a history of making cuts and being in contention. This year he’s been either close to a top 25 finish or a MC and he hasn’t missed a cut at the US Open in 7 years. If he ever was to win a major it would be a US Open, but I’m happy with him just making the cut and scoring me points for 4 rounds.

Jason Dufner
Dufner has been pretty steady yet unspectacular in 2017, but he will be a low cost at FanDuel for your salary cap and worth a pick. He won’t win you the 2017 US Open, but as a fantasy pick he won’t be the reason that you lose your Fantasy Golf lineup in this FREE US Open Fantasy Golf Contest either.

Justin Thomas
The beginning of the 2017 PGA Tour season saw Thomas as the hottest golfer in the world. Things cooled down for him, but he has shown signs of life in recent weeks. Originally, I had Mickelson in this space, but he's backed out so I would bump up Thomas and see if he is on the beginning of another hot streak.

Louis Oosthuizen
Oosthuizen is one of those guys that you don’t pick for your fantasy lineups and then see him on the leaderboard and say “Man…why didn’t take him”! Louis is a great pick for the Fantasy Golf Millionaire and he is a pick that could also win the US Open under the right scenarios.
