If you watched the US Open you will have seen that the favorites in a major are generally the ones that are near the top of the leaderboard but to win your fantasy golf contest you can’t just stick in all favorites.
Fortunately for us, all but one of our sleeper picks made the cut including our longshot pick Jim Furyk and one of our sleepers was in the Top 6 on the final leaderboard.
If you are betting on one of these sleepers or longshots for the 2018 British Open Championship then you are truly gambling on hitting one at long odds but if you are trying to set your lineup for the DraftKings Fantasy Golf Millionaire Contest then all the sleepers below are guys that should make the cut, will be well priced at DraftKings for your salary cap lineup and can pull out a victory at Carnoustie.
Top Fantasy Sleeper Picks for the Open Championship

Xander Schauffele
He was our sleeper pick for the US Open that finished in 6th and was helpful in cashing in a few or our DraftKings lineups with that finish. He will be in the $8000-$9000 price range for the Open Championship but that may be a steal considering where he could finish.

Zach Johnson
As we wrote in our US Open Sleepers page “Johnson is just the kind of guy that nobody really ever thinks about when making fantasy picks and then see him in the lineups on all the leaders’ teams”…He finished in 12th at Shinnecock and helped a lot of fantasy players cash in. He will be undervalued for the British Open so use his soft pricing to your advantage.

Tony Finau
I find it amazing that Finau is a 66-1 pick even though he finished near the top of the leaderboard at Shinnecock Hills. He may be pricey as a salary cap pick for the Open Championship but it's hard to leave him out of your lineups the way he is playing.

Louis Oosthuizen
Oosthuizen has missed the last two cuts at the Open Championship but he did finish 2nd three years ago and is a past Open Champion already. Louis has played well in 2018 but has been a bit under the radar but a T12 at Augusta and a T16 at Shinnecock should make him a sleeper pick that could have a shot at winning.

Patrick Cantlay
Cantlay has never played in a British Open but he doesn’t shy away from the spotlight. We had him as a sleeper pick for the US Open and stuffed our Fantasy Golf Millionaire lineups with him since he was a low cost sleeper pick. He may cost a bit more this time around but should still net you a good finish and nice points for your lineups.

Ian Poulter
At 42 Poulter won’t dominate a tournament (he never really has) but he plays smart golf, is used to playing links courses and always brings his “A Game” to the Open Championship. Although he would relish winning it in the UK, I’m sure Poulter would take a win in Scotland. He shouldn’t cost too much at most DFS golf sites.

Charley Hoffman
If I was to put money down on a longshot to win the Open Championship…Hoffman may be the pick, especially at such a nice payout. Hoffman appears on the leaderboards of all the majors and if he could put in 4 solid rounds he could be a surprise winner at Carnoustie. As a fantasy pick he is never an expensive salary cap hit and more than returns his value.

Russell Henley
Henley has had an unnoticeable 2018 PGA Tour season but he has had some solid showings especially in the two majors so far. I wouldn’t bet him to win at these odds but as a fantasy golf pick for the Millionaire Maker Contest…he should be a great sleeper pick to use.
