The second major of the year is here and this time the top PGA Tour players will tee it up at Shinnecock Hills for a chance to win the 2018 US Open Golf Tournament. All the big names will be in the field once again which will make it easier for you to create a DFS lineup for the DraftKings Fantasy Golf Millionaire.
Below are players that won’t be the top favorites to win the US Open but are fantasy golf players that you should consider stuffing into a DFS lineup when you build around some of the names on our Who Will Win the 2018 US Open page.
When searching for the best fantasy golf picks for the US Open course history doesn’t matter at all since the tourney is moved around every year. For Shinnecock, look for long hitters with a high driving accuracy since being in the rough at a US Open is usually very dangerous. Also look for guys with good scrambling percentages and are hot with the putter going into the tournament since the short game will be key during the week. We also like guys that have a good history playing the US Open which is generally a difficult test for golfers every year.

Top Fantasy Picks For The US Open
Most of our research is done using the GolfStats.com website. They have the largest historical golf database online including course histories, player performances year by year and fantasy picks for every event.

Tiger Woods
Is he back? So far since he’s returned to golf Tiger Woods has played well and has showed some of his past glory. This will be a major and we all know that Tiger Woods is still chasing Jack for the most majors in a career. If Tiger Woods leaves his driver at home he may be in line for a good week at Shinnecock but other than that he makes an intriguing fantasy pick for the week.

Jon Rahm
Even with a win this year, I’ve been a bit disappointed with Rahm on tour this year. He has the talent to win in any tourney that he’s in but he does lose his cool at times and Shinnecock will be frustrating for most on the course. Will Rahm keep his cool enough to win this major? I don’t know about that but he should let his talent keep him playing through the weekend.

Phil Mickleson
Phil is again playing some great golf this year and he was a 2nd place finisher at Shinnecock back in 2004. Phil’s short game should make him a solid bet to play the weekend and he won’t be a bad fantasy pick for your DraftKings Fantasy Golf Millionaire lineup for the week.

Tony Finau
No question Finau has the distance for Shinnecock Hills being in the Top 5 in driving distance on Tour, but can he hit it straight enough all week and avoid the rough is the question. Finau’s game keeps getting better and he could be a great fantasy golf pick this week if he can avoid the trouble and get the flat stick working for him.

Ricky Fowler
Fowler made a nice charge on the Sunday at Augusta and it was led by his putter. Coming off a 5th place finish in last year’s US Open Fowler will be a favorite to win the US Open but an even better fantasy pick for your DraftKings golf lineups.

Patrick Reed
Your 2018 Masters champion will be front and centre for the second major of the year. Reed is playing great in 2018 and his history in US Opens is pretty solid which makes him a nice fantasy pick to key in on.
