The CareerBuilder Challenge, which was once the Bob Hope Classic, is unique event where the professionals tee up along side amateur golfers. This odd twist can really slow play down (even more so then usual) and some golfers inevitably do better with the pace then others. The other unique element is that the tournament is played on 3 different courses - TPC Stadium Course, La Quinta C.C. and the Jack Nicklaus Tournament course.

Top Tier Fantasy Picks

Brian Harman
No surprise here, it's hard to fade Harman this week even at an expensive price tag. His last 5 events include 5 top ten finishes including last week's tie for 5th at the Sony Open. His course history here the last two years - 3rd and 11th. The only reason to fade him is the potential high ownership but do that at your own risk.

Phil Mickelson
This is a risky top end play as this will be Phil's 1st event since last year and I'm always a little weary taking players right off the bat. That being said he does have a solid course history with a 21st, 3rd and 24th place finish in his last 3 times played at the CareerBuilder Challenge. I don't think a top 15 is far fetched for Phil the Thrill, he usually starts the year of in good form.

Best Value Pick For DFS

Ryan Blaum
He's great value on DraftKings compared to FanDuel at $7300 and is coming off a 10th place finish at the Sony. He actually imploded down the stretch and could have finished much higher. He finished 25th last year and has great eagle potential which is crucial on the easy courses.
Best CareerBuilder Course History Pick

Bill Haas
Haas has played this event 13 times and has made the cut in all but 1 and that was back in 2013. He has 5 Top Tens with an average finish of 24th. He was 17th last year, 9th in 2016 and won in 2015. He's an easy course history pick for the CareerBuilder. Honourable Mention to Adam Hadwin with albeit a much shorter history.

CareerBuilder Sleeper Pick

Sean O'Hair
He's coming off a cut in the Sony Open which is not too encouraging but I'm willing to take a shot on him this week with these much easier courses to play on. He has Top Ten under his belt with a 9th place finish last year and he's a veteran who's played with amateurs many times before.
