2014 US Open Fantasy Golf Picks

The 2014 US Open is the next major on the PGA Tour schedule. All the top golfers will tee off again this year at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina. A Donald Ross built course, Pinehurst will again favor the golfer with a good short game and a hot putter. The course is usually set up tough and it can be unpredictable in picking a winner.

DraftKings.com has stepped up with a $300,000 Eagle’s Nest Fantasy Golf Contest and DraftStreet.com has a $100,000 U.S. Open Big Score fantasy golf contest.

Below we have listed some of the fantasy golf picks that you should consider when making your teams either at one of the top fantasy golf sites or in your regular fantasy golf league.

Adam ScottAdam Scott – The #1 golfer in the world looks to get his second career major. Scott is playing great golf in 2014 and has the backing of Steve Williams, who also knows a bit about winning majors. Look for Scott to be one of the most popular US Open picks this week.

Best Fantasy Golf SitesRory McIlroyRory McIlroy – Breaking up is hard to do…but it can make you a better golfer. McIlroy may now be focussed more on golf since his break up with Caroline Wozniacki and will try to win his second US Open title. He was up and down at the Memorial, so he may be poised to break out at Pinehurst.

Matt KucharMatt Kuchar – He may not win, but Kuchar seems to always be on the leaderboard in every tournament. If you want fantasy points, you want a guy like Kuchar to solidify your fantasy lineup.

Jimmy WalkerJimmy Walker – Walker was the hottest golfer on the PGA Tour, but has cooled off considerably. Fantasy players may have missed the wins, but he still has three Top 10 finishes in his last five starts. Look for Walker to continue his solid play and score a ton of fantasy points this week.

Dustin JohnsonDustin Johnson – Which Johnson will show up - the golfer that has shown utter dominance in tournaments, or the Johnson that seems to make a mess of every hole? He has the game to win, but fantasy players need to be wary of his off weeks.

Jordan SpiethJordan Spieth – Spieth seems to make himself a factor in big golf tournaments. Spieth finished 2nd at the Masters and 4th at the Players Championship. At 20 years old, Spieth is mature enough to not get rattled at the big stage and could really be a factor looking for his first career major.
